This week, Royalmont Formators gathered for a week of meetings in preparation for the new school year. We traditionally call this our "Pre-Planning Days," and this year's Pre-Planning consisted of two parts. For the first two days, we welcomed a guest speaker who lead a two-day intensive workshop about strengthening our students' writing skills throughout each grade level and across subjects. The second two days focused more on our mission and how it's lived out practically in the day-to-day life of the school. These days included presentations by Mr. Ferraro, Margie Lademan (a Consecrated Woman in Regnum Christi who will be working regularly at the school), and Carl Brown, President of Royalmont's Board of Directors, as well as Fr. David Endres, newly appointed Assistant Professor of Church History and Historical Theology at the Athenaeum of Ohio/Mt. St. Mary's Seminary of the West.
Formators also took a short field-trip to Royalmont's first Mason location before the school moved to the current property on Western Row Rd. We ventured just a mile away to West Church St., where Royalmont first held classes in Faith Christian Fellowship in downtown Mason. After enjoying lunch in the basement, (which served as Royalmont's auditorium, chapel, and multi-purpose room), Mr. Schlotman gave a tour of the facility and shared some entertaining anecdotes about the life of the school way back when.
The new school year begins on Wednesday, August 24th. Please keep all of our students and Formators in your prayers!
