This morning, Royalmont students arrived all decked out in their Olympic Day apparel ready to compete and do their best to help their team win!
Which country will you be rooting for?
This clip features two of the many fun events RA students are participating in today.

This morning, Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Kelczewski's PreK 4 classes are participating in a mini-version of Olympic Day. They're all wearing special PreK Olympic Day tshirts that they made in class featuring their neon colored hand-prints. To begin the day, they also held Opening Ceremonies complete with a mini-parade with homemade Olympic flags.
Their Olympic Day will include a lot of fun games and competitions followed by a yummy picnic lunch in the pavilion.

Over the past few weeks, Mr. Schlotman's 5th grade class has been studying rockets and making their own models. Today was the much-anticipated launch. Each student got the chance to launch the rocket they made in class. Once launched, the rocket released an internal parachute allowing it to float gently back to earth. As the rocket floated down, each student tried to run and catch it before it hit the ground.
In this clip, the 5th grade class chants a countdown as Luke launches his rocket and chases after it.

Everyone's favorite gameshow arrived at Royalmont today. That's right, folks, today Mr. Schlotman hosted everyone's favorite end-of-the-year event: Let's Make A Deal. As a reward for excellent participation in our monthly virtue campaigns, Mr. Schlotman hosts the game show where students can win fabulous prizes from finger puppets and whistles to extra recess and ice cream parties. You have to complete your task and "Make a Deal" to get the better prizes, but be careful, there are gag gifts mixed in with the good ones like "pick up trash on the playground" and "clean the cafeteria." Would you take the risk?
Congratulations to all of our students for working so hard on your monthly virtue campaigns throughout the year!
Thank you to Mr. Schlotman and his team of student helpers for all of the hard work they put in to making this such a fun event for everyone.

Without a doubt, one thing that makes Royalmont such a special place is our Formators. Acting as mentors and role models, they embody the Semper Altius spirit by going above and beyond the expectations of a typical teacher.
Yesterday, we had several past Royalmont Formators visit the school to enjoy a picnic lunch outside with Mrs. Hughes' PreK class. These former Formators are all Moms now, so they brought their little ones as well. It was a reunion for them, and a great chance to reconnect with former students and coworkers. Some taught at Royalmont for just one school year, while others taught as long as five years, but each of them made a specific impact on the school and the children they taught.

What do you do if you have a lot of things to move in a short amount of time? Well, you make a 185-person assembly line of course!
This morning, we were faced with the task of taking the 50 chairs that we had borrowed for the Easter Concert and returning them to the school next door. In the ultimate display of teamwork, the entire student body worked together to accomplish this task. Lining the hall by classes, they passed the chairs one by one from the auditorium, down the hall, out the back door, and across the back parking lot. Even the little Kindergartners helped!
By working together, our students were able to move all 50 chairs in just around 5 minutes, and they had a ton of fun doing it!
