Each year, Royalmont students participate in Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati's Annual Poster Contest, a pro-life art contest that draws hundreds of entries from students in area Catholic schools. This year's theme was "I Show Respect for Human Life by…" First, Second, and Third place over-all awards are given to the best entries in each of these age categories: K – 2nd grade, 3rd – 5th grade, and 6th – 8th grade.

This morning at Morning Assembly, Mrs. Ryan announced this year's contest winners from Royalmont:

Mini-Mission

At Royalmont Academy, we work  to develop the whole student- not just academically.  We call this integral formation, and once a month, we do an apostolic project so that our students will get in the habit of fulfilling the great commission- that we make disciples of all nations.

Since it's Holy Week, our tradition is to go door to door in our community in what we call, a "mini-mission" to remind people of God's love for them through Christ's Resurrection and we simply ask them for prayer intentions.

When we come back to school we pray for everyone we got to encounter- and we keep them in our prayers during Holy Week.

Penny War 2011 came to a dramatic conclusion this morning during Morning Assembly. Each class cheered for their team as they made their final penny deposits or dropped their final bombs, and as usual, Mr. Schlotman's class had a little something up their sleeves...

Which class will be victorious? Stay tuned to find out!

Penny War 2011

Maddie, our Student Council President, declared a Penny War today to raise funds for Fr. Stan Fortuna, who will be performing at Royalmont's Pre-Beatification Party this weekend.

During a Penny War, students bring in loose change...pennies count as positive points while silver coins and cash are BOMBS and count as negative points. The class with the highest amount after pennies and bombs are counted WINS! There's nothing like a little healthy competition now that spring is in the air, and the students love it because its for a great cause!

There are still seats available for this Sunday's event with Fr. Stan. It begins at 6:30pm.

If you'd like to attend, go to this website to register: www.frstan.royalmont.com.
